About this digital tool
The pension calculator estimates the monthly pension you can expect in the future based on years of work, average salary and state pension rules. In essence a pension consists of a basic part and a supplement that grows with the years of contributions and with the level of salary on which insurance was paid. The more years of contributions and the higher the declared salary, the higher the pension.
The tool is useful for planning your future, seeing the effect of the years you have paid insurance, and deciding whether you need extra savings, such as a voluntary private pension. The result is only an estimate, because formulas and rates change with reforms; verify with the Social Insurance Institute (ISSH) or e-Albania.
How to use
- Enter the years of work with contributions.
- Set the average salary over your career.
- See the estimated monthly pension.
Frequently asked questions
How many years of work are needed for a full pension?
In Albania 15 years of contributions are needed for a minimum pension and 35+ years for a full pension. Rules vary by gender and period.
Can I get a pension without 35 years of work?
Yes — with 15+ years of contributions you receive a partial pension (proportionally lower). Under 15 years, no pension entitlement arises.
How is the old-age pension calculated?
The pension is made up of a basic part plus a supplement that depends on the years of contributions and the salary on which insurance was paid. The exact formula is set by law and may change; use the calculator for an estimate.
How does the declared salary affect the pension?
The pension is tied to the salary on which contributions are paid. If the minimum wage is declared instead of the real one, the future pension comes out lower too.
How can I increase my pension?
By paying contributions for more years, declaring your real salary and, optionally, saving in a private pension fund. Early planning helps more than any late measure.
