About this digital tool

A password generator creates strong, random passwords instantly, using the length and character types you choose. Set the length (12 characters or more is a good starting point), decide whether to include uppercase letters, numbers and symbols, and copy the result with one click. Passwords are drawn from your chosen character set using the browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), so they do not follow a predictable pattern. Everything happens in your browser, and the password is not sent to any server. The strength indicator is based on length and the size of the character set. Use generated passwords for new accounts, for replacing old ones, and to secure your email, bank and social media accounts.

How to use

  1. Set the password length. Use 12 or more characters.
  2. Choose which character types to include: letters, numbers and symbols.
  3. Copy the generated password with the copy button.

Frequently asked questions

Is the generated password stored anywhere?

No. Generation happens entirely in your browser using crypto.getRandomValues, and nothing is sent to a server.

How long should a password be?

At least 12 characters. Use 16 or more for important accounts such as email and banking. Each extra character makes guessing much harder.

Are generated passwords truly random?

They are drawn from the browser's cryptographic random number generator, so the characters do not follow a predictable pattern.

What makes a password stronger?

Length matters most. Use 12 or more characters, mix upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols where a site allows them, and avoid common words or birthdays.
